Today is the day! Samsung just revealed the new galaxy watch 4 and watch 4 classic (no really, like 5 minutes ago) and we are excited
But firstly to explain the confusion
The watch 4 is going to be like the active watches
And the watch 4 classic is going to continue on the normal watches after the galaxy watch 3
So another difference is that the classic has a physical rotating bezel and seems more chunky
The normal watch 4 seems more streamlined so it will be better for more active people (like fitness junkies)
The watch 4 is going to be available at 44 and 40mm and is going to start at 249$ for the Bluetooth version
The classic is going to be 46 and 42mm and is going to start at 349$ for the Bluetooth version
They are both powered with the 5nm exynos ws920 processor with 1.5 GBs of RAM and 16 GBs of storage which is a step up from the 8 gigs on the older models
They also come in a LTE variant but sadly no 5G
Samsung says the reason for no 5G is that the watch only processes small amounts of data
But the biggest difference is that the don’t run Samsung TizenOS anymore (I won’t miss bixby) and now they run WearOS, the new collaboration between Samsung and Google is supposed to have better integration between the two
They are branding it as WearOS powered by Samsung, and are calling it wearOS 3
And amazing oneUI is looks amazing on the watches from the promotional material (oneUI is the a skin on top of normal andriod or in this case wearOS)
There are also new health features like a 3-1 bioactive sensor
Sadly these look like proprietary straps on the new watches unlike the old 20mm straps
Release date is the 27 of august
