The New PlayStation Plus subscription tiers have been revealed. The New Plus Tiers will combine Sony’s old subscriptions; Playstation Plus and Playstation Now.

Also Known as “Project Pegasus” This seems like Sony’s Answer to the Xbox Game Pass, which has been dominating the Gaming Market since its release.

The new tiers are starting out in Asia in June, followed by North America, Europe, and the rest of the world.

This will also lead to the end of the Playstation Now service since it’ll become a part of their new Plus subscription.

There are 2 new tiers in addition to the old PlayStation Plus subscription, which is now called Playstation Plus Essential.

New Playstation Plus Tiers

  • Playstation Plus Essential – This will include multiplayer access, game discounts, 2 Free monthly games, and cloud saves for games. This will cost $9.99/month or $59.99/year which is the same price as the current Plus subscription.
  • Playstation Plus Extra – This will include everything in the Essential tier, as well as a catalog of PS4 and PS5 games. This will cost $14.99/month or $99.99/year.
  • PlayStation Plus Premium – This will include everything in the previous tiers, and an extra 340 games which will include some PS3 titles and some original PlayStation, PS2, and PSP games as well as streaming for select games. Game Trials will also be included. This will cost $17.99/month or $119.99/year.
  • Playstation Plus Deluxe – This tier is for markets without Playstation Now, will be offered at a lower price compared to Premium, with all of its features except the Game Streaming.

This shows the large push sony is doing to get up to the Xbox Game Pass. Sony will include Titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and God of War, however, Sony is not planning to make all of their exclusive titles available in the new subscription, at least not yet.

This is what makes the Game Pass powerful for Xbox users since it includes all of the new Xbox titles and a backlog of Xbox One and 360 titles. It is also available on PCs as well as Xbox consoles.
